Monkey God Hanuman

Religious Hindu places in India often are tied together by a common thread of sights, saffron and red vermillion themed colors, religious texts and chants, fervor filled people and naughty yet highly revered rhesus monkeys who symbolize the Indian Monkey-God, Hanuman. Legend has it that Hanuman was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and proved it by tearing open his heart literally to show that his beloved Lord Rama was in it. It was just apt that this monkey posed in front of engraved words praising Lord Rama even today.
