Gadisar lake

The lake was built in the 14th century by Maharawal Gadsi Singh to meet the water requirements of this arid region. Considering its importance for sustenance, many small temples and shrines were constructed around the Gadisar Lake, hence transforming it into a pilgrimage centre in Jaisalmer. The most popular among these temples is the Tillon ki Pol, a Krishna Temple which houses a statue of Lord Vishnu.
